Summer
Well, over the summer, I babysat my little cousin who is 12
years old. We both heard and saw things, we didn’t exactly want to.
Whenever I have, my closet door shut, I have this eerie feeling that,
something’s in there and it is always watching me. One day, my cousin and I
were just sitting in my room, and all of a sudden, my closet door just swung
open. There were no winds strong enough to do that. In addition, my cat has even
stopped going inside my closet. He won't go near it. I don't know what
this could be, but it has made me scared to death of going inside my closet
to just get clothes. Well, I hope someone can help me with my story. Thank
you for listening.

Spirits
I have had many experiences with spirits over the years. My first was when I was about 14 yrs old. My grandfather had passed away and I was spending time with my grandmother so she would not be alone during her grieving. I was asleep in the front bedroom of the house. It was in the middle of July and I woke up to the room freezing to the point you could see your breath. There is no air conditioning in that room. I raised up on my elbow to look around and I see a mist in the shape of a man reaching out to me. I reach out toward it and for some reason, I hesitate. I think I finally woke up enough to realize what was going on. When I pull back, the mist stoppped as well. It then began to slowly fade away. I have not seen it since.
Another time, in another house, about 5 years ago. I lived in a little community that was known to have had slave labor and cemeteries near my house. I began noticing, shortly after moving in, a shadow that stood about 6 ft tall moving through the house. It would come in thru the back window of my daughters\' room and go out the front door and circle his way around the corner of the house. I would see him in broad daylight doing this. When I would clean the house, he would sometimes be watching me in the corner of a room. I had gotten so used to seeing him, I was not afraid and I think he knew that. He would ramble thru the house at night banging on the kerosene heater or turning the gas heat off in my daughters\' room. One night, I had just gone to bed when I felt him grab my leg and shake me. It frightened me. I told him he could bang around and do whatever he wanted to do, but do not touch me or my girls. He never did it again. Come to find out, there used to be a house on the property that had burned down many years ago. I think he was afraid of the heaters. It was the only thing he would ever really bang on or touch. My oldest daughter finally came to me one day and asked if our house was haunted. When I asked her what she meant by that, she told me she had seen an older black man watching her thru the window and had seen him come in thru it several times. He had actually stared at her in the face as if intrigued by her. She said next thing she knew, he looked up and then passed thru her. She said it felt cold and tingly. He never once tried to hurt us or anything. I think he liked having us around.

The Basement
This happened over 10 years ago, when I still lived with my
mom and abusive step-dad. My bedroom was in the basement of the house and a
quarter of the way down the stairwell to come to my room was a door leading
to the yard of the house. The inner door had a window and beyond that was a
screen door which we always kept locked and in the winter we changed the
screens to windows. Well, this one night I was in my room, as usual,
watching my horror movies (My favorite thing to watch) in the dark (my
favorite way to watch them) when there was suddenly a knock on the window of
the regular door to the yard. Not the screen door but the regular door (I
know this because the regular door window kind of makes a rattling noise
when you knock on it where the screen door doesn\'t). So I start running up
the stairs, my step-dad comes running down (He and my mom were in the living
room which was right above my room) and we meet at the door to the yard. So
he opens the door (which was locked) and then opens the screen door (which
was ALSO locked). Now the year this happened we had gotten A LOT of snow in
Jersey so EVERYTHING was covered in snow. There were no footprints in the
snow in the yard and seeing how the screen door was locked there was no way
for someone outside to knock on the inner doors window. Til this day we
were never able to explain that occurance. Someone once told me that maybe
it was a spirit that wanted to get out. Whatever it was, it scared the
heck out of me. LOL

College Haunting
When I was in College up in western Illinois, I cultivated friends who were active with the various boards that handled student activities. One day, the President of the Student Union came to me and told me about some strange noises that they had been hearing when they were in their office late at night. Being naturally skeptical, I discounted their stories and jokingly told them that they needed more sleep. They invited me to go up with them the next night (Sunday) and visit their office at midnight. I went up with them, and we sat there for about two hours. Then I told them I had to go back and go to bed as I had class early the next morning. As I was walking down the stairwell towards the second landing, I heard what sounded like footsteps on the landing above me. I looked up and there was no one there. Thinking that my friends were playing a joke on me, I continued down the stairs. when I felt the hairs on the back of my neck raise up inexplicably...and it felt as if I were being watched . I looked up and didn\'t see anyone, but I didnt exactly stick around to find out. the next day I asked my friends if they had played a joke on me by trying to scare me. They assured me in all seriousness that they hadn't. I got to thinking about it, and I went to the office of the campus police. I asked if there had ever been any murders on campus., and I was told there were three...one of them was in the very building that the office was located in! At one time, the building had been a dormitory. I went to the library and researched the school newspaers around the dates that I had been supplied, and that\'s where I found out that a murder did indeed ocur on the top floor of the building that my friends had their office in. It didn\'t say in the article, but what would you like to bet that my friend's office was in the very room where it started? I researched a little further and found out that a student had been shot over a bad drug deal in the stairwell where I heard the footsteps and felt like I
was being watched. One of the guys involved was trying to run away and the other guy shot him just as he was running down the stairs. He died instantly, but the force of the momentum carried his body down the rest of the stairs to the bottom where he collapsed in a heap.

Wondering
I was wondering if anyone else has ever had problems with a ouija board. I knew there was something going on in my apartment so my friends and I decided to contact it with a ouija board. It spelled out a name, but then our candles went out and the planchette started to move very fast. Suddenly the whole board started to move slightly on the table. We saw what appeared to be a dark shadow in the corner of the room and we all smelled an odd odor. We jumped up and threw the board outside & turned on all the lights. I know of people that have no problems using a ouija board but I will never use one again.

Funeral
When I was 11, my mother was in the garage doing laundry and I heard her scream from in the house. At the same time, our telephone started to ring and when I answered it, it was my uncle (mom's brother) from Michigan and he wanted to speak to my mom. He and the rest of my mother's family all lived in Michigan and New York. When I went outside to the garage to get my mom, she was pale as a sheet and she was staring at the big garage door. I asked her what was wrong and she said that Grandpa (her dad) was just there by the door and told her that "everything was ok". I figured she was nuts, but when she went to answer the phone, my uncle told her that their father had passed away a few hours before while having surgery for an aneurism. He and my grandma were supposed to come out that month to visit us and see my new baby sister.
When I was 30, my Grandma passed away (she lived 20 years without Grandpa), and my mom, sister and I went back to Mich. for the funeral. When we returned home 4 days later, my mother's bedroom (she lives with us), smelled like my Grandma's perfume that she had worn for years. This lasted about 3 hours. My sister, husband and I searched all over the room trying to pinpoint where it was coming from, it was all over the room. The strange thing is, we hadn't brought our luggage in from the front room of the house yet, so there was nothing in my mom's bedroom that could possibly have contained that scent. To this day, my mother will not sleep in her bedroom. I truly believe it was my grandmother's spirit trying to say goodbye, just as my grandpa did all those years ago. My mom is the only child of theirs that moved so far away.

My Story
My story, consists of myself and my mother who has been gone since 1999. On my wedding day I was so upset yet over joyed to becoming a bride. The morning of my big day I prayed for her to be watching over me and. she was. Just as I was walking down the isle, I felt such a warm feeling of comfort, and I heard her voice say to me I am here and you look beautiful. I knew she was with us this day and to confirm this feeling when our ceremony was through and my husband and I turned to walk up the isle to leave I saw her clear as day standing at the doors of the church. I was so excited to see her again and I truly know when ever I need her to just ask and pray for her and she will be there for me thank you call upon the light for allowing me to share my story. And my all the angels be with you as well.

My Grandmother
A few years ago I had a stroke. I really did not understand what was happening and really felt like I was going to die. When I was taken to the hospital emergency room, as I was being worked on, I saw my grandmother in the corner of the room. She waved her hand in a no motion and said it would be okay, it was not my time to go.
My grandmother passed away in the 1970’s.

My Father
I have realized for a long time that loved ones are always around after they have passed and are able to communicate with you. One week after my dad passed, I heard his voice call my name. He was actually laughing and I heard him say “go to the cemetery, it is funny.” I followed my instincts and upon going there saw his temporary grave marker was not in the same place it was in when he was buried. I inquired in the office of the location and told them I think it was accidentally switched with a recent burial beside his. The office manager went to the grave site with me and checked his paperwork. He immediately started to apologize for the mistake and switched them back to their proper place.
